For those who would like to observe or learn at Akame Shizennou Jyuku (Akame Natural Farming Training Area)
Our open-air outdoor training area includes demonstration plots where you can get the live hand-on real natural farming experience.
We gather on a monthly basis to learn the natural farming practiced by Mr. Yoshikazu Kawaguchi throughout a year, and each student put it into practice at the farm.
Natural farming is a way to grow crops not plowing the earth, not using fertilizers and pesticides, and not viewing weeds and insects as enemies. It does not require large machines. It is a self-perpetuating way of growing crops, not making any problems in any way.
Please note: There is no facility for long term living.

Schedule:
Saturdays- We work together to maintain the environment of the field and rice paddy in good condition, such as mending the path, fence, stone wall, etc.
We stay at a lodge on Saturday night, have dinner together which is prepared by some of the staff members and
anyone who volunteered to help, and then have a learning session.
Sundays- There are demonstrations on rice paddy and vegetable field in the morning, and guided tour in the afternoon.
Things to bring:
Work clothes (long-sleeve shirt and long pants), gumboots, cotton work gloves, hat, towel, spare clothes, rain wear, lunch, drink.
*There is no shop to buy lunch around Akameguchi Station and Akame farm.
If you are staying at the lodge, we will prepare lunch and tea for Sunday.
Please bring a lunchbox (a plastic container or something) and a water bottle which you can use for hot tea.
